TVP UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2011

FROM PARIS TO TIMBUKTU

The market leader in Renewable Energy Conferences organises global events and therefore their data covers all parts of the world. The returns from the mailings were running at 10% due to bad addresses and goneaways. In addition there were significant numbers of duplicates. So what did those clever people at TVP do.
Firstly we wrote a piece of software that would check the layout of the addresses, grading it A to E, with E being undeliverable. Secondly we pulled all of the duplicates out for our client to reinsert the correct record.

Result, returns down to 3% and duplicates almost totally removed.

TEMPORARY STORAGE

When approached to store just 1 pallet of Exhibition Stands for a month we said yes.

Six months on we’re still storing it and in addition we’ve been asked to pick and despatch items from the pallet, receiving them back and checking everything’s still in working order.

MARLOW TO VIENNA

A regular client asked us on a Wednesday to send some Exhibition Stands to Vienna by Friday of that week.

A new challenge for TVP!!

With a wide ranging and very loyal band of suppliers, I went through all of the Courier companies we use.

No problem said Emma, who normally just looks after our UK deliveries.

In comes their van, 8am Thursday morning and at 9pm on the Friday I get a call telling me it’s arrived.

Phew!!

RACING CARS AND BRAKE PADS

So, what happened when a major automotive component manufacturer wanted to send an invitation to its top 170 customers to attend Europe’s premier automotive event.

No problem, except the invitation was a presentation box containing 10 of their components and a rally car that required personalising.

Oh yes and the event was only 4 weeks away but the lead time on the box was 3 weeks!

You know what, apart from Russia, 165 of the invitations, including Turkey, were tracked and arrived on time.

Oh and the 5 for Russia, once the duties had been paid were only 2 days late.
